Astronomic Planetary of Rosario

The Planetary offers weekly shows for educational institutions and for the public in general. In both cases, the shows are produced in the institution and refer to the astronomical phenomena and celestial bodies that populate the universe, and also to historical narration, novelistic and of science fiction. The building has the form of a comet. It is situated in the southwest sector of the "Urquiza" park. It was inaugurated on June 18 of 1970. Surrounded by species of trees brought from everywhere of the world and typical of our zone, it forms a complex constituted by three spaces.

Parks

In a busy city like Rosario, green parks make a much needed change from the crowds. Rosario is home to a number of parks where visitors can take some time out to go for a walk just to relax. "Independencia" park  is the largest, with a lake, fountains, various gardens and food sellers. Visitors can rent a paddle boat to take out onto the lake, a perfect activity for a sunny afternoon. Also within the park here are a football stadium and history museum, as well as a fun children’s play area (Jardín de los Niños). " España" park  is by the river, which is perfect for a pleasant walk, just like " Urquiza" park .

Museum of Contemporary Art

Rosario’s Museum of Contemporary Art, also known as MACRO, is housed in a strange looking building right by the riverside. The building itself used to be a grain silo, integral to Rosario’s industrial past, and is now home to ten floors of modern artwork, primarily by young local artists. At the top of the building there is a viewing area which provides great views of the river and the city. Given Rosario’s significant young artist population, MACRO is an great opportunity for visitors to get a real feel for the city, its people and its culture. Opening hours: Wed-Mon 2 p.m. – 8 p.m .

National Monument to the Flag

Probably Rosario’s most recognizable landmark, the  National Monument to the Flag, was built as a memorial to the creator of the Argentinian flag, Manuel Belgrano. The flag was first revealed by Belgrano on an island in the Paraná river, just off the shores of Rosario, in 1812, and underneath the monument lies his tomb. The memorial;is not only an important historical attraction, but it is also a spot for fantastic panoramic views of the city. The tower section of the monument is open to visitors who wish to climb to the top and look out over Rosario.

"Los Soles" Tourism

Tour by tram

A tour through the streets of Rosario from the National Monument to the Flag in a retort of an original tram. It costs $100, and children under 10 don't pay. It's only for long weekends and you'll have to check schedule. Phone: 54- (0341) 155 725389

Guided Visit to the Monument to the Flag

This is a guided visits from the Monument to the Flag to the National Park to the Flag. In the National Park to the Flag you'll have a historical and cultural tour where it will be remarked the value of Paraná river, the people that made our history and the dreams of immigrant pioneers. The second part of the visit continues in the Monument to the Flag. In this stop it will be explained the sculptures of Lola Mora, the Monument to the Flag, the construction to the Fallen in Malvinas, trying to create a space for reflection about the history.

Poetry Festival

September 18th At 10 am will take place the Workshop of Handicraft Edition, in charge of Eric Schierloh. It's for free and it's in the "Plataforma Lavardén", in the corner of Sarmiento and Mendoza streets. The night reading of the International Festival of Poetry is at nine pm. Poets under 30 years old are going to read and share this beautiful pieces of writing. It's at the "Oui" bar,  in Mendoza and Sarmiento.

Varsovia: Theatrical Trilogy "Las Polacas"

"Varsovia" is a trilogy of plays that are based on a book with the same name, written by Patricia Suarez. It is about human trafficking in Argentina in the '30s. Ecology

A projection of "Galápagos", a tribute to Charles Darwin, will be shown on September 18. This is a documentary about his expedition to the Pacific archipelago, showing the beauty of the islands and samples of the Theory of Evolution. After that, a short documentary called "Jaaukánigas (People from Water)" will be shown. It is about the wetland "Ramsar Jaaukanigás" located in Santa Fe, where you can find an extraordinary biological and cultural diversity. This will take place at San Martín 1080, at eight pm and it's for free.

Provincial Historical Museum

Located right in the middle of the "Independencia" park, the provincial historical museum called "Dr Julio Marc"is Rosario’s main history museum. It is home to a number of excellent exhibits, ranging from indigenous artifacts to post-colonial religious displays, as well as an intriguing display of mate-related items. The exhibits are well presented, and the design of the museum is modern and accessible for all ages. It is also conveniently located next to the Newell’s Old Boys football stadium, which is also worth a look in if it is open – but the museum is closed on matchdays. "Refineria Parrilla Restaurant"

The "Refinería Parrilla Restaurant" it's a quiet place and it is hardly ever crowded. It hasn't got any parking, but you can park on the street. The menu offers classic and gourmet options. It is one of the best places of Rosario where you can eat well. There are a wide variety of suggestions, one for each day. The hotel is a good place to go with your family, and it isn't expensive.

"Ceviche" restaurant

In the "Ceviche" restaurant you can eat sushi and nikkei food. The restaurant is located in the "santiago" street, and it has capacity for 120 people. The restaurant has a bar of  thirteen meters long that takes the 30% of the area and that imposes itself as protagonist of the environment.

Rock&Feller's

The Rock & Feller's is a restaurant and thematic bar where you can find the best music together with the best dishes. The delicious bakery is a temptation for any moment of the day. In this restaurant you can eat desserts like "American Cheese Cakes", "Torta Oreo", and the legendary R&F cake. The after-office offers the opportunity to taste delicious appetizers such as Fried Shrimps, Spinach R & F and Feller's Nachos. The Rock & Feller's has a Happy Hour from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 04:00. You cannot do reservations, it is in order of arrival.

"Puerto Norte" Hotel

The "Puerto Norte" hotel has four floors with twenty bedrooms for each one. You can see the "Gran Paraná" bedroom from the bar downstairs. The hotel has nine floors, and it's luxurious. It is located in "Cándido Carballo" street, and it's an icon of the city. The last floor has a spa, a sauna and a pool. You can also ask for massages there. In every corner of the hotel there are details trying to relate to the silo. 

Boutique Hotel

The boutique hotel of Rosario is located in the center of this city, seven blocks from "Córdoba" downtown. The bedrooms of this hotel are very spacious. They have a sommier, air conditioner, and an LCD. The bathrooms are clean, tidy and bright.  The stuff is really nice and helpful. They offer you breakfast and you can always ask for coffee, water, juice and cakes for free.

"Esplendor Savoy Rosario"

"Esplendor Savoy Rosario" is a hotel in the center of the city. It was a historical building in the past, and although it was renewed it keeps the front and furniture. Nowadays, it has a spa, a gym, a climatized pool, a restaurant, a terrace and a sauna. The bedrooms are large and bright. All of them have a fancy decoration and free Wi-Fi, a TV, and offices. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and you can see live tango shows. Everyone can eat in this restaurant, even if you're not checked in the hotel.
